A young, healthy, active teacher in Glasgow found a lump in her breast but was told at first that it was a benign cyst, so she ran the Boston marathon and got engaged.  Some months later after the lump had grown bigger she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer.  She then went through chemotherapy, surgery and immunotherapy and was treated at the Beatson Institute which is part of Gartnavel Hospital in Glasgow.  She is now supporting the new research project at the Beatson Institute led by Professor Seth Coffelt, where Secondary1st is proud to fund the post-doctoral researcher working on immunotherapies to lead to the development of even more effective targeted treatments.
