Gold in Cheltenham
A group of 18 children and 18 adults got together to honour the memory of a dear friend who had recently died of secondary breast cancer. Champagne and sushi party 2018
Hannah, who was Rosie’s friend from the age of eleven on, held another fabulous champagne and sushi evening to raise money for Secondary1st. Everyone had a great time, enjoyed the amazing food and contributed very generously to the charity.
School Charity Day
A local school held a Charity Day in aid of Secondary1st. Stalls offered a variety of attractions from new and second-hand books to popcorn, snacks and drinks. Held during the lunch break, almost £400 was raise in less than an hour.
Victory in the Office Quiz
After a hard-fought contest through rounds with some really brain-stretching questions, the winners celebrated their victory in the office quiz. The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone there and raised over £500 for Secondary1st.
Shenley Chanukah Party
Rebbitzin Tanya arranged a fabulous ladies’ Chanukah party. Everyone had the chance to decorate their own piece of ceramics before enjoying some wonderful refreshments and the thrill of a raffle with a huge collection of the most amazing prizes in aid of Secondary1st.
Pink Petal Club Carol Concert
Alina organised a fantastic carol concert for the ladies of the Pink Petal Club at Elstree Cancer Centre. Everyone there also enjoyed wonderful mince pies and home-made pastries and contributed to a collection in aid of Secondary1st.
NICE approves two new drugs
NICE (The National Institute For Health and Care Excellence) has announced that two new breast cancer drugs, palbociclib (Ibrance) and ribociclib (Kisqali), are to be made available to NHS patients in England. Another Night of Fun in Glasgow
After their fantastic fun night last year, Andrea’s family and friends held an amazing Halloween party in her memory to raise funds for Secondary1st. Everyone there enjoyed a great night, and they raised over £1200 to help make a difference and find more effective treatments for secondary breast cancer.
Wearing pink to school
An entire school wore pink one day this month to raise funds for Secondary1st at the request of one of the mothers who is a secondary breast cancer patient. They also did face painting and sold cakes, many of which were pink, and unicorn poo.
